Rebecca Suerdieck was recognized for her contributions to Education of Colonial History and Women's History. Her self-initiated Research and Living History Portrayal of "Marye Bucke" has reached countless audiences all over the Country. The National Medal Of Distinction is the highest Award given by the Daughters Of The American Revolution.

Rebecca is a Graduate of Virginia Tech with a Degree in History and Education. Her advanced studies include Rare Book Librarianship, Photograph & Paper Conservation, and and Archaeology. Her impressive Resume includes Colonial Williamsburg; the Library Of Congress; and Smithsonian Institute, American History Museum, Photo Collection.
She has researched, written and published several books on Colonial History, including a Guide to English Country Dancing and an Archaeology Report of Charles Church in York County, Virginia. Ongoing research includes mapping and cataloging 17th and 18th century Anglican Churches in Tidewater Virginia in a self-funded initiative called the 1680 Church Project.

Rebecca spends her time researching, creating new content and exploring new ways to engage with audiences in this Digital Age. She actively advocates for Historic Preservation and will be hosting a Virginia History Conference in 2023.
